About Sir John Soane’s Museum
Sir John Soane’s Museum was formerly the home of the neo-classical architect John Soane. It holds many drawings and models of Soane’s projects and the collections of his paintings, drawings and antiquities that he assembled.
The museum was established during Soane’s own lifetime by a Private Act of Parliament in 1833, making it a venue that’s jam-packed with history and creativity. The perfect spot for an inspiring event like no other.
We want to show you two different events that you can host at the Sir John Soane’s Museum for an incredible and unforgettable corporate event.
1. Drinks Reception
With the exclusive hire of the Museum, Guests can explore Soane’s fascinating, world-class collection arranged the same way today as it was in 1837.
Witness the Dome area and the 3,000-year-old sarcophagus of an Egyptian king, as well as the famous Picture Room, which holds masterpieces by Hogarth, Turner, and Canaletto.
Drinks and canapés can be served in the Library-Dining Room or the yellow Drawing Rooms.
Once Guests have drinks in their hands, an expert member of staff will provide an introduction to Soane and his eccentric house before Guests are invited to explore the ground and first floors of the candlelit Museum at their leisure.
Upon request, the Sir John Soane’s Museum team can also open up the Exhibition Galleries, the period kitchens, and the Crypt to allow Guests a closer look at the famous sarcophagus of Seti I.
2. Dinner with candlelit tours
Another amazing event that you can treat your Guests to at the iconic Sir John Soane’s Museum is a candlelit dinner with a tour of the museum.
Full of curiosities and surprises, each room is a work of art in its own right.
Pre-dinner drinks can be served in the same beautiful rooms where Soane entertained the great and the good of Regency London, followed by a candlelit tour of some of the Museum’s most spectacular spaces.
The journey finishes in the elegant Library-dining room where dinner can be served for up to 30 Guests.
