This autumn, Somerset House presents 24/7, a landmark exhibition examining our inability to switch off from our 24/7 culture, through a series of immersive works from some of today’s most exciting global artists.
With event Spaces capable of hosting meetings, conferences, receptions and dinners, Somerset House’s flexible approach to events will provide delegates with a host of opportunities to experience 24/7 as part of their event.
Event planners will be able to incorporate private views, curated talks, tours and delegate offers into events between October 31 2019 and February 23 2020. Available Mondays and Tuesdays only and based on a maximum of 185 Guests standing.

For the ultimate 24/7 experience, you can privately hire the exhibition out of hours, followed by an evening reception in the Great Arch Hall. Within the reception Space, you will experience a new live data visualisation created by Somerset House Studios resident Tekja.
The three-dimensional projection displays live data revealing the rhythms of sleeplessness worldwide and exploring the relationship between time and sleep in the connected 24/7 world.
Alternatively, clients hiring any event Space at Somerset House, including The Portico Room, Seamen’s Hall and Lancaster Rooms, can enhance their event with private views which offer exclusive access to the exhibition and even a guided tour which lasts 60 minutes and offers Guests a unique insight into the exhibition.

A Wake-Up Call for Our Non-Stop Modern World

This inability to switch off has become one of the most important issues of our time. Since 2010 we’ve added a full week (37 hours) to our working year, yet 200,000 working days are now lost annually due to insufficient sleep.
24/7 explores how we can reset the natural rhythms of life – work, leisure, rest and sleep. Through the work of international artists, designers and thinkers, this is an exhibition that has so many parallels and relevant themes to the modern working world. It’s the perfect opportunity for organisers to align their meeting or event with Somerset House’s artistic offering.
Exhibits explore the causes, consequences and solutions to our 24/7 lives – these include an opportunity to be completely shrouded in a copper blanket, which blocks electro-magnetic signals.
So why not do something different for your next event and take your Guests on an immersive journey that explores the non-stop nature of modern lives.
