It has been a busy start to the year for the team on the ground in Sydney. We have been sourcing all types of event spaces to host the best parties, conferences, workshops and private dining. Meeting some of the industries finest venue managers, catering teams, and event planners. HeadBox went live in Sydney on the 1st February – every venue we list on HeadBox has been vetted to meet our quality, creativity and service standards, however, we wanted to share our top 10 favourites with you so far:
1) Linseed House, The Grounds of Alexandria

A breathtakingly beautiful venue. Each event space is completely unique and brings its own touch of magic. One of our favourite spaces is Linseed House, built-in 1918, formerly an old Linseed oil factory, completely rich in history. The exposed brick walls, high ceilings and the parquetry flooring bring a really rustic quality to the space. A truly wonderful venue for weddings, parties and conferences.
2) Manly Room, Barangaroo

Most meeting rooms don’t boast a view like this one and that’s exactly why it’s made our top 10. They have opted for a modern interior style, each room enjoying an abundance of light with the most stunning views across the bay. With it its Sydney CBD location this would be my meeting room of choice any day.
3) Norfolk Room, The Gidley

Plush, dimly lit, and with the Norfolk Rooms intimate vibe you feel like you are being invited into a hidden secret. Instantly thirsty when you see their enormous array of drinks later followed by a mouthwatering experience when they wow you with their premium steak menu. Definitely, the place to be for all of your private dining needs.
4) Leighton Hall, John Niland Scientia Building

The Scientia Building has gone through a major regeneration programme. The first thing that hits you is the modernistic architecture and contemporary design. Inside Leighton Hall the event space is flooded with natural light and includes state of the art facilities. Despite its scale and scope, Leighton Hall offers affordable rates making this a repeatedly bookable venue for conferences, gala dinners and cocktail parties time and time again.
5) Sky Room, Green Moustache

With its wooden furniture and botanical ornamentation, you instantly feel calm and at ease here. A bold and creative menu brings you the best in Australian and international fusion cuisine with a lengthy list of delicious cocktails. Totally understandable if your brunch eased into dinner or your morning meeting turned into an all-day workshop. We can’t think of a better spot for your next event.
6) The Royal Stables, Sydney Showgrounds

The sheer size and event potential at the Sydney Showgrounds are very impressive being one of Sydney’s largest event venues. We particularly love The Royal Stables with its exposed timber beams and traditional Australian feel. This space is incredibly versatile given its blank canvas nature making it the perfect space for conferences, weddings and company dinners.
7) Exclusive Hire, SoCal Sydney

SoCal Sydney had to get a spot in the top 10, oozing energy, fun and really is the ultimate al fresco experience. Hired exclusively the dining room flows neatly onto the rooftop allowing up to 135 guests seated or 170 standing. We love the vibrant colours, leafy backdrop, and the sun catching terrace – this is certainly one to take note of for your post-work drinks and corporate parties.
8) Rooftop, 55 George

It wouldn’t be a Sydney top 10 without A) a rooftop and B) a view of the Sydney Opera House. With a variety to choose from 55 George really caught our eye. Being part of Rydges Sydney Harbour means you are in company you can trust. With further drinks and dining areas under the one roof means you are spoilt for choice. This conveniently situated heritage site with glorious views makes this a ‘must book’ venue for networking events, cocktail receptions and parties.
9) The Atrium Redfern, National Innovation Centre

Located in the centre of Redfern, a repurposed old locomotive workshop with its contemporary edge is guaranteed to impress your guests for all conferencing and large reception needs. The venue has plenty of breakout rooms for smaller workshops and meetings, each one decked out with audiovisual equipment. The versatility of this space means The Atrium can be transformed to suit any occasion making this a winning event venue.
10) Verandah, Vibe Hotel Rushcutters Bay Sydney

Tranquil and casual in atmosphere, fresh and wholesome with their menu selection, Vibe Hotel is an amazing choice for your next corporate away day, meeting or networking event. We found The Verandah particularly special with the floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the luscious gardens outside inviting in floods of natural light. The bright and simplistic decor allows you the ultimate flexibility when bringing your brand into the space.
