I started at HeadBox 12 months ago as a Business Development Executive and since then I have had the opportunity to grow with the company and am now the Business Development Manager in the Brisbane Office.

As a Business Development Manager, my role is very exciting, I get to be a part of an ever-growing team and help spread the word about the fantastic products HeadBox has to offer venues.

What does a typical day look like as a BDM?

My morning starts off with exercise; either a run or the gym. This sets me up fir a clear headspace to take on the day. I get into the office for an 8.30am start and dive into my emails from the night before and make sure all my meetings with venues for the day have been confirmed. At 9am we normally have a team meeting to get everyone together and discuss our plans for the day. Then from about 9:30am I am out on the road visiting venues and sitting down with them to demonstrate how we work for both social and corporate bookers. In this demo not only do I get to see some pretty unique venues but I also get the chance to show off the amazing HeadBox products that are available to them, Lead Feed and 3D Models.

I usually attend 3-4 meetings back to back throughout the day and during any gaps, I will either follow up with venues or book more meetings for the following week.

After my meetings, normally around 4pm, I prepare proposals for venues that I met with that day including quotes for the optional products they may have been interested in.

How has HeadBox changed over the last year?

I can definitely answer this question as I have officially been at HeadBox for a year in 2 weeks time and wow have we grown. From only 4 other colleagues when I started to now having 16 is a pretty amazing achievement for Ali and the team. I would say the company growth is the biggest difference not only in the way the team feels but also in the way we can support both our venues and clients.

When I started we had not officially launched HeadBox Business and we were only live in Brisbane and Sydney. Since then we have launched into 2 more capital cities, Perth and Melbourne, and we are now gearing up to launch two more in just a few weeks.

What do you love most about the company and job?

First of all, I want to say how much I love HeadBox as a company and the opportunity it gave me. I became a part of this team pretty early on which allowed me to gain exposure to all areas of the business (Marketing, Events and Sales). This valuable exposure then allowed me to decide which direction I intended to go down. Through the exposure, I discovered how much I love being in a front-facing role so I knew I had to give the Sales team a go.

I love the HeadBox team!

I have never been in a work environment with so many supportive people in one place, no matter the question, location or time zone there will always be someone there willing to help you. The team is such a loving and enthusiastic group that knows how to have fun but also how to work hard, buckle down and get the job done.

I am so proud to work at HeadBox and I can not wait to see what the future holds for us all!
